This place is a little piece of heaven. My friends and I have been amazingly hosted by Edgar and Carolina who were really eager to get to know us as well as to show us the best landscapes of the area. The food is gorgeous and the private access to the lagoon is beautiful and very quiet. I definitely recommend !
Amazing place in a piece of paradise! Shoutout to the great staff working there that made our 3 days even better. All of them were extremely helpful and always smiling! Breakfast and food service is also great! It has kayaks and a SUP available also.
I did not stay at this hotel, but wandered over to their restaurant, as my nearby hotel didn't have one. I wanted to specifically leave a review for the staff here. The hotel manager, Edgar and his kitchen staff were incredible! They were not only incredibly lovely, but more than happy to help me, even though I wasn't staying there. He suggested and organized a sunrise paddleboard tour for me, that was definitely worth the drive into town. I can't speak to the establishment other than the restaurant and staff, but 10/10 would recommend to at the very least wander over and eat here if you're staying nearby.
There are only eight "cabins/rooms" at this hotel, which is something we actually enjoyed. All members of the staff (Edgar, Betty, Eva, Carolina & Efrain) were very helpful and kind. We had an issue with our door's lock and they were prompt to repair. It is a quite place to relax and to enjoy the view. You will need a taxi or rent a car if you want to go downtown or other nearby locations
Bacalar is an amazing place and this hotel even more. Wonderful environment, with small independent houses in front of the lagoon. The food is fresh and tasty. You can also do a 3 hours tour on the lagoon to discover all these specificities and enjoy its blue gradient. But above all, you must stop for the owners, Edgar and Carolina: they made my friends and I feel at home! I will definitely go back if I have the opportunity
It’s difficult to know where to start - this place was AMAZING. We were greeted by Edgar on our arrival who was just fantastic - incredibly personable, professional and cheery and shown to our cabaña. We loved it so much we immediately extended our stay to 7 nights. This was the perfect amount of time because we really felt we could relax and enjoy the day reading by the water, lying in the hammocks, paddle boarding or kayaking. Kayaks and paddle boards were free to use anytime. We were never bored! There are just 8 cabañas, which makes the place feel incredibly private and still quiet and peaceful, even when it’s fully booked. Relatively new, the layout of the property is beautiful. It has direct access to the lake, with a long, beautiful jetty that has little individual cabañas with sun loungers and chairs, leading right up to the end with an amazing large cabaña with hammocks, chairs and loungers. This part of the lake is stunning - clear blue water. Our cabaña itself was perfect - huge king sized bed, a lot of storage space and a fully equipped kitchenette which we really appreciated because we then had the flexibility to choose if we wanted to make our own food or to eat at their lovely little bar/restaurant. Breakfast was included and they had a great lunch menu - ceviche, fish tacos etc. The cook was brilliant - she was also lovely and always presented our food beautifully. We can’t go without mentioning the amazing team of staff. Edgar, Ruth and Carolina manage the place and they are incredible - the kindest people with a beautiful energy. So welcoming and chatty and made us feel so at home. We are so looking forward to going back. By far our best stay from our whole Mexico trip.
Lovely peaceful place. Comfy room (the studio in our case) with fridge, tea and coffee facilites, mini kitchen. Very relaxing, with hammocks and free kayaks. Beautiful dock with chairs and loungers. Good included breakfast.
We did not stay in the hotel, but came for the day and got day passes to hang out. Lovely environment and beautiful lagoon access. We ended up taking a private boat tour with Edgar and enjoyed it so much! We would love to stay at the hotel on our next visit to bacalar. Food was also very good!
